Thomas Rodehuth is a German-born, Los Angeles–based artist, designer and art director celebrated for his vibrant, immersive visual language he calls Midcentury Cave Drawings - a playful fusion of organic forms, expressive brushwork, and a modern design sensibility.
Thomas is known for transforming interiors and exteriors alike with his large-scale floral and botanical murals that flow across walls, ceilings, floors, and beyond. His pieces bring life and personality to hotels, restaurants, markets, and homes throughout Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco Portland and beyond.
Beyond murals, Thomas’s creative reach includes paintings, prints, and patterns, as well as logo and packaging design for brands such as Staud, Better Booch, MCM, and Youth to the People. His work has graced products, clothing, and magazine covers, and has been featured in Architectural Digest, Domino Magazine, and Dwell.
He studied Fashion Journalism with a focus on Art Direction at the Academy for Fashion and Design in Düsseldorf and holds a degree in Art and Design. Before moving to California, Thomas spent a decade as an award-winning costume designer for opera and theater, developing his sharp sense for form, color, and storytelling - a foundation that continues to shape his multidisciplinary work today.
Thomas lives in Los Angeles with his partner Jeff and their dog, Pretzel.
